A Raleigh North Carolina native, Emily studied and graduated from the CIDA accredited Interior Design school at East Carolina University. She later moved to the Washington DC metro area and worked as a senior designer for a large design firm in Baltimore, MD for five years.  Her husband brought her back to North Carolina where she later became a lead designer for a local design firm, Carolina Design Associates for over six years.  Since establishing Malcolm House in 2017 she has continued to create beautiful and functional spaces for her clients to call home. Emily currently resides in Charlotte with her husband, two children, and one lovable pup.
